20 diferencias; cultura europea vs. cultura latina

Estas son algunas de las diferencias que vi durante este periodo de intercambio y esta basado en mi entorno.
Los europeos toman más en serio los estudios, es decir, la responsabilidad es muy importante y hay más distancia con los profesores. Los latinos somos "amigos" de nuestros maestros hasta el punto de hacer bromas con ellos.
El famoso mito de que los europeos son super fríos; es verdad en parte, pero con las personas cercanas a ellos no son así (en la mayoría de los casos). Los latinos vamos repartiendo amor por el mundo y nuestro espacio personal es más reducido, también somos mas románticos.
Los europeos son más abiertos que nosotros y yo diría que se debe a que a la mayoría no le importa la religión ( o no son religiosos), entonces como que nada va en contra de sus creencias y nosotros somos mayoritariamente católicos por lo tanto hay muchos tabúes.
La puntualidad es algo muy importante. Los latinos somos conocidos por ser impuntuales. Más de uno habrá tenido problemas con eso, yo no por suerte. Siempre intenté ser puntual porque eso dice mucho de nosotros como personas.
Ellos pueden ser muy amigos pero nunca haber ido a la casa de ese/a amigo/a. En los países latinos hasta vivimos juntos.
Los europeos se divierten raving y nosotros perreando hasta el amanecer. Nada como una buena fiesta latina.
Ellos hacen sus planes con bastante anticipación y los latinos... bueno nosotros planeamos en el momento!

Pero es algo bueno que sean tan organizados
Los europeos son directos, nosotros preferimos dar unas vueltas al asunto primer, tal vez por miedo a la respuesta...
Tienen una cultura en la que toman bebidas alcohólicas desde jóvenes por lo tanto tienen mayor tolerancia al alcohol (no se aplica a todos obviamente). Los latinos también beben desde jóvenes pero hasta no poder más.
Los latinos estamos orgullosos del país del que venimos y los europeos... no son tan patriotas, la mayoría ni siquiera sabe el himno nacional de su país.
Tienen la facilidad de viajar mucho más de lo que podemos nosotros, me refiero a la infraestructura y distancia. Como resultado a esto pueden también dar un vistazo a la realidad mundial.
Hacen menos gastos innecesarios (generalmente). Cuando había llegado recién creía que todos o al menos la mayoría iba a tener celulares de última generación y demás, fue todo lo contrario.
En la mayoría de los colegios no se utiliza uniforme por lo cual el día a día es como un desfile de moda. Los latinos iríamos casi como "vagos" si asistiéramos a un colegio así en nuestro país. Pero estando acá debemos adaptarnos o seremos "forever alone" jaja no, es mentira.
Europa esta llena de inmigrantes, es por eso que no les llama la atención ver a uno más. Para nosotros ver a un extranjero es ver a un nuevo amigo, una ventana de oportunidades. Somos sociales por naturaleza.
Somos mucho más conversadores, como ya dije, hablamos con un tono de voz bastante elevado, a veces hasta somos molestos.
Los europeos siempre tienen que tener planes, deben hacer algo. A nosotros nos encanta estar sin hacer nada. Somos más relajados.
Con lo que respecta al colegio tienen más vacaciones que nosotros, para algunos el régimen es más exigente acá pero eso ya depende del colegio y el país.
No siempre tienen paciencia con los extranjeros no se si se debe a los estereotipos o a qué. Como ya dije nosotros somos muy sociables y nos interesamos en todo. Somos bastante curiosos.
Por la diversidad cultural; los europeos tienen un mejor nivel de inglés, es decir, si no hablan muy bien al menos se pueden comunicar. Con los latinos es diferente porque la mayoría habla español entonces no se ve como una necesidad. A mi me ayudó bastante tener un buen nivel de inglés.
Los europeos usan mucho más los transportes públicos de lo que nosotros los utilizamos, lo mismo con las bicicletas. Nosotros ni siquiera tenemos bici sendas ( en Paraguay). Por esta razón es bastante peligroso andar en bicicleta en la calle. Acá es algo normal, de todos los días.

These are some differences that i can see so far in this exchange year. It's based on my environment.
Europeans take more seriously their studies, i mean, responsability es very important and there is more distances between teachers and students. We latinos are "friends" with our teachers, we even make jokes with them.
The famous myth that europeans are very cold. Is half true, but they are not with the people close to them ( in most of the cases). Latins go spreading love for the world and our personal space is smaller, we are also more romantic.
Europeans are more open minded than us and i'd say that it's because the majority don't give a shit about religion, so nothing goes against their believes. And we are mostly catholics therefore there are many taboos.
The punctuality is very important. Latins are well known for being impuntual. More than one would have problems because of that, luckily for me it was not. I always try to be punctual because that says a lot of us.
They can be close friends but never been in each others houses. In latins countrys we almost live together.
They have fun raving and us 'perreando' until the morning. Nothing like a latin party.
Europeans make plans with a lot of anticipation and latins... well we plan in the moment! "What you don't plan is more fun" Is something good that they are so organized.
They are direct, we prefer to ride around a little bit first, perhaps it is for fear of the answer...
They got a culture where they drink alcoholic brevages from young therefore they are more tolerant (not everyone of course). Latins also drink from young but a lot more until they die or so.
Latins are proud of their countries and europeans... they are not so patriotic, some people don't even know their national anthem.
They got the easeness of traveling a lot more than we can, I mean the infrastructure and the distance. As a result of this they can also take a look at the world's reality.
They make fewer unnecessary expenses (usually). When i just arrived i believed that all or at least most would have the next generation cellphones and that kind of stuff, it was the opposite.
In most schools uniforms are not used, so is like a fashion show. Latins would go with a "lazy" look if we were at that kind of school in our countries. But we must adapt here or be "forever alone" haha no, just joking.
Europe is full of immigrants, this is why that do not call their attention to see one more. For us seeing a foreigner is to see a new friend, a window of opportunity. We are social by nature.
We are much more talkative, as I said, we spoke with a tone of voice quite loud, sometimes we can upset people around us.
Europeans always have to have plans, they must do something. We love hanging around. We are more relaxed.
With regard to school they have more holidays than us, for some the regime is more demanding here but that depends school and country.
They do not always have patience with foreigners i do not know if it is due to stereotypes or what. As I said we are very sociable and we are interested in everything. We are quite curious.
For cultural diversity; Europeans have a better standard of English, that is, if they not speak very well at least they can communicate. With Latins it is different because most of us speak Spanish so they do not see it as a necessity. Having a very good level of English helped me a lot.
Europeans use public transport more than we use them, the same with bicycles. We do not even have bike paths (in Paraguay). For this reason it is quite dangerous biking on the street. Here is normal, an everyday thing.
